Last night was the coldest so far in San Diego's history...it was 28 degrees Fahrenheit in our place....
Whooo...days have gone so fast! in less than 3 hours, it's gonna be December already! Are you ready for the holidays? I will be having my last in class writing on Friday.. Then next Thursday will be our Psychology finals And in two weeks, will be my History and Health Finals! Oh my...stressful but I know I can do this.... BTW, I got an A+ on my Papua New Guinea paper! woohoo!!!! Oh well, I wonder if I was able to keep my 04 New Year's Resolutions.... Anyways, San Diego Chargers are doing great lately...it was unbelievable at first but men! they were actually winning! If they will be joining the SuperBowl, then heck yah! I will definitely become a Charger's fan!!! I wonder how it feels to be kissed under the mistletoe??? hehehehe |
Howy ho! how is everyone doing today????
This long holiday weekend has been a very awesome one!.. tiring but great! Thursday -Thanksgiving We had our family lunch at my uncle's place. It was a very simple family gathering with Filipino food of course. Then we headed home to cook for our own thanksgiving dinner, roasted the turkey and stuff. But got a call from my other uncle (father side) that we are invited for a thanksgiving dinner at Chula Vista with his inlaws. This one is really the American version of Thanksgiving with all mashed potatoes, beans, yams, cranberries, and turkey. I enjoyed it so much coz I love gravies! eventhough there's no rice...We went home around 9PM to get ready for the early bird specials next day. Friday - Early Bird My brother and I got up around 5:30 AM and headed to SEARS coz they will be giving out $10 gift card for the first 100 customers. Actually, we really didn't go to do a major shopping but to enjoy the crowd. I was able to buy a new pair of brown leather shoes for my dad. I tried to look for something for myself but it was so crowded that we just decided to leave the store. We went to Robinson's May to look for a present for my aunt but it's kinda hard that we also again left the store. THen we went to Target and browsed for something to buy. My brother got DVD's and I bought the Clay Aiken Christmas CD coz it was only $9 , I was also able to buy a Mossimo denim coat for only $15. THen we headed to BestBUy.. Gees! they were definitely on sale... and it's freakin crowded!... DVD players are only $ 17... PS2 games are just 10 bucks!...It was so crazy!!!! We didn't buy anything because the line to the registers goes endlessly and we only have few things on hand so we left the store! We haven't had our breakfast so we went to Denny's. Deng! our waitress needs some training in customer service! I still tipped though I wasn't satisfied with her service. We proceeded to Old Navy where I was able to buy present for my dad, my new baby cousin, and duh! of course for myself... Final destination was at Ross and I bought my mom a present. Whew! it was tiring but men! that was fun! Around 2 PM , the whole youth (about 7 of us) headed downtown for the 2004 AG Youth Convention!!! wooohoo!...All the youth in Southern California gathered for 3 days. I was one of the counselors (in short, babysitter) for these high schoolers. This first night, we had Kutless in concert. I didn't enjoy it that much because it's a Christian rock band and to think that we are seated by the stage that my heart pounds everytime I hear the base. On the other hand, the preacher was so awesome, Dave Roever, a Vietnam war veteran who lost half of his face during the war. Saturday - Day 2 of the Convention I forgot to mention, there were about 7,000 youths and can you imagine how crowded it is?? But it was really fun coz it reminded me of my LRT days in the Philippines. The kids were telling me that I am good at going through the crowd! hahahaha! We had Delirious in concert, a rock British band. I am not a fan of rock band so I again didn't enjoy the concert that much... Sunday - Day 3 Salvador had their concert. I pretty much liked this one because it was more in the Latino kind of music. But they are really good and I liked all their songs. The convention was over around 12 PM. The whole youth went straight to the church office for the choir practice... I enjoyed my weekend...and tomorrow is gonna be another day... | I will be roasting the turkey for tomorrow...I did this once last year but I didn't put any stuffing in it so now, I am googling the net to look for stuffing recipes...
In short, I'll be cooking for the family...Oh well... I hope everything turns out fine... Bye for now, I gotta go and do some grocery shopping... Laterz! BTW Happy Birthday to Fides!!!!! |
Oh.. they are selling Spongebob wristwatches at Burger King for $1.99 but you have to purchase a salad and a drink I think... oh well...
I am so getting ready for the Thanksgiving Sale....Woohoo!!! |
Happy Birthday to Jezz and Rommel who turned 19 and 25 respectively....
I received a text message from my bestfriend around 6:00 AM... it says "hey Abby, this is Eden, check your email"...she used AOL IM to send me the message that's why she had to introduce herself. I've been thinking why bother me at this time in the morning??? "She might have a problem or there's something that I need to know about", I said to myself. "Oh God, she getting married?", I assumed... So, I woke up, checked my email then Whhhhaalllla!!! there's the big news! I am right... She did get married but in an instant because her fiance had to go to Iraq. It was a civil wedding and they're planning for a bigger one once he gets back from Iraq. I am so happy for her but then the "self-centered me" began to bother me... What is going on with the world????? Three of my bestfriends got married this year.. and both in an instant!.... what is up with that???? I am only left with one and I don't know if she's gonna be following them really soon!....This idea freaked me out! Man! Is this really what happens during your quarter life????? Deng! I can't imagine this...kinda funny but do you know the last movie of Rico Yan??? Yes, "Got to Believe"...one of my favorite movie...If you've seen it, then you know what I am talking about...I am so can relate to Claudine's character in that movie... Well this is just my id trying to beat up my ego.... *sigh* |
I am such a crybaby! Huhuhu!
What I mean is I finished watching Little Secrets, a movie intended for pre-adolescent/adolescent audience but men! I can't help it... Okay... yeah... I cried!...Darn it! I look so stupid in front of the TV and my mom saw me crying which is so embarassing!!!!!!!!!! Enough of that...let's all be mature now! hahahaha BTW, I won 10 bucks worth of giftcard at Footlockers...it's from work coz we got 96% on the mystery shop. I was the MIC(Manager in Charge) last Saturday but the thing was...the raffle was for everybody who worked in that certain time...I didn't win the DVD player but I am happy to win the consolation price coz it will help coz I wanna buy a new pair of shoes... On the other hand, all the managers at work were supposed to get a turkey for thanksgiving but then the supervisor won't let my boss buy us one (kuripot!).... I love the weather today...slightly gloomy... |
Is it me or is there something wrong with blogger????
|
My brother and I went to BestBuy earlier today and we ended up going home drooling....tell me about it, there are so many stuff that you want to buy but the downside is that you don't have the money...also, it never crossed my mind to start charging my cards again.. Anyways, I really want to buy this cool video camcorder, the really tiny one that looks like just a plain digital cam but it's a camcorder...OMG, it's jsut so cool! Then I saw this rack filled with Christmas songs and I want to buy at least one...*sigh* probably I'll buy one on the After Thanksgiving Sale....
I hate to admit it, but I am starting to get so hooked up with Southpark! I don't watch this on TV but my brother who has an account at NetFlix started renting all seasons... |
Here's what's in front of my laptop and study table
A post-it note with: Things-to-do list * study Psychology Chapters 9 to 12, test on Tuesday * research about Multiple Personalitu Disorder, Freudian approach, start writing the paper if possible * do Martin Luther King, Jr essay...but study his Letter from Birmingham Jail first before jotting down the outline * study Indo-Chinese/Vietnamese History then do summary * do oral history paper 3 on Military family I hate this weekend! I am so freakin busy!!!!! I hope that this weekend will get longer in order to accomplish this tasks! I love time management but the thing is.. there's no enough time and it seems so impossible that I will be done with all of these with confidence! I mean, an assurance that I will definitely get an A on all of these! *sigh* Good luck for me! |
Sit back, relax, and enjoy....coz this entry is so darn hilarious and it doesn't happen everyday!
But before the peak of this day's entry........ I bought all 8 seasons of FRIENDS at BestBuy...pretty good deal..got it for $140 plus a 10 dollar rebate (which I have no idea if it's gonna be $10 each). The sales clerk also told me that good thing I bought all of it because they are not gonna have this kind of deal anymore (I dunno if she's lying).. I saved $120....and besides I will collect all 9 as you know, I am 100% FRIENDS fanatic!
What is wrong with me....I am no good when it comes to remembering names....I felt so embarassed when this guy said hello to me then I got no clue on what his name was...I gotta be practicing remembering names... Finally got over with my health paper so I have two more to go. A friend asks me if I can make her a 12 page paper about immigration and she's gonna give me $100 in exchange. I didn't accept it...I feel that I am taking advantage of her although, I am having second thoughts now... hehehe... Oh well.. yarida yarida... here goes the highlight of my day... I got to the parking structure 4 around 7:20 AM. I started eating my breakfast, while waiting for my friend's call so we can go to class together. Then five minutes after I arrived, a couple got into the car that was parked beside me (left side. At first, I thought that they're just gonna chill or probably eat breakfast like many of the students are doing after they arrive to the parking lot. I am so enjoying my PBJ sandwich, when I saw that they started fondling each other. Not that I am staring at them or something it's just that I saw them (Gees! the windows are not even tainted!). I avoided looking at them because I have no idea what the heck is going to happen next. When I slightly turn my head to check it out if they just kissed, I didn't see anybody, coz they leaned the chairs all the way back. Then all of a sudden, I saw the girl got in front of the guy and started flipping her hair!....They aren't nude "yet" but my friend's timing was nice coz I really wanted to get out of my car ASAP coz I never seen one doing that "thing" LIVE!...I was the one who was so embarassed....I am used to seeing couples kissing and touching each other's tooshy in the parking lot coz I see these all the time but mahn this one is so freakin different to think that it is only 7:30 in the morning... and for goodness sake, didn't they see me, alive and kicking beside them???? I assume they were freshmen and they are Asians, too! My friends are all laughing their asses off because that was our topic during our lunch break...some of them even asked me where exactly I parked so they can also check it out that maybe they'll do it again. I should have knocked on the window and yelled "GET A ROOM!" What a day.... Happy Birthday to my dear friend, Noel! PS.. Andeng Girl, he sat with us during our lunch break...he's soooooo cute and btw, he got a dimple on his left cheek...he smelled so good! Hehehehe |
YES!
I'm done with my freakin paper!....it took me one week to finish it...but who cares, I'm done with it so I can start slacking off again! I'm kidding! Laterz |
FREAKIN paper on my International Health!.... I'm not done yet.... It's hard to find of there's healthcare system in Papua New Guinea!
BTW, I got the result of my Writing Proficiency exam... and guess what? I PASSED!... I got a 9 so it means I will take no Finals on my Rhetoric and Writing Class... also, I got a B on my midterm on the said class which is really good because I wasn't expecting it. I thought I really messed it up. I miss Mr.A.M. haven't seen him for a month! I have a story to tell.. I will sound like a 13 year old but who cares anyways... YEsterday, I saw Hoffner ( the dentist that I used to talk about before) Gees...he's still cute and I was about to say HI but then I got scared! hahahahaha!!! He smiled and I smiled at him, too... That's it! I have to have the guts to open my mouth once in a while...coz I'm not getting anywhere! hahahaha! Just kidding! |
I freakin don't know how to start my freakin paper on International Health... with all the data and statistics on hand, I am having a hard time categorizing which one goes with which ....arrgh!
I am tired. I woke up so early coz I gotta be at work at 6 AM... when I got home at 12 PM, I have to accompany my mom and lola to my aunt's baby shower. I don't want to go but heck, I still did! Anyhoo, we went of course to the baby section.. and there goes my "mommie" thingie tinkering my thoughts... those tiny shoes, socks, and clothes...Awwwwww!!!! Now, I am stuck in front of the computer, googling all the information I can get about Papua New Guinea's healthcare system...and I still have to learn how to do an APA formatting on my references! Sorry, I am so whiny! It's just that I am so stresed out! I need to put myself together... is coffee gonna help? :p |
Guess what's the talk of the country right now???
Yup...election issues...it's just that I hate turning on the TV and watching the news because it's all about this politicians...Gees! can't you see how I hate politics! President Bush is re-elected... I wonder what's gonna happen next with the war in Iraq...There are lots of anti Bush here in California...But I really don't give a darn...I am not conservative neither a liberal...can I just stay somewhere in between???? I am so broke!...I even opened my Hello Kitty bank to get all the coins exchanged so I can buy gas... Hahaha! The good thing is... I am credit card balance free! Yahoo!... one of my New Year's resolution has been granted! I am so happy! So this coming holidays, I will totally enjoy my paycheck!!!!!!!! Another benefit of having no more credit cards to pay for is that I can have plans of travelling....earlier today, while I was having lunch with my girlfriends, we're planning to go to Washington then go cross country in Canada...I haven't been there but I guess it's nice to experience all the snow that they have there!...and gees! I wanna see some Canadians! hahahahaha! I aced my History midterm...isn't that great???? Very busy weekend ahead of me... I have to finish my health report about Papua New Guinea...six more weeks and school is gonna be over!!!!!!!!!!!!! I need to renew my Philippine passport... Nyt! |
It's Election Day!
Too bad, I am not a citizen yet so I wasn't able to vote...actually, I am somewhere in between a liberal and a conservative...so Kerry or Bush..doesn't matter to me! Anyhoo, I got a surprise call from my froggy buddy acting as a telemarketer...Good thing I didn't show him how mean I am when it comes to telemarketers! :p I appreciate your call, dude! and it's nice hearing from you again!...I always enjoy our conversations... Here's a photo of us, the AlphaPhiTungangi Gals at San Diego State...Taken at East Buffet.... |
Daylight Savings Time ended and here I am again trying to adjust my biological clock! I hate it when the nights get longer and the days get shorter!...
